Babbitt Casting Animation

November 14, 2016

A new animation showing the centrifugal Babbitt caster at TRI Transmission & Bearing Corp. has been added to YouTube.

This animation was created in Blender. 3,300 frames were rendered on 5 computers. It took 2 weeks. Not all the details of the machine are modeled, but it is a good representation of how we cast bearings.

  1. Is this video similar to the one you have explained?https://youtu.be/vEoyaty3Aok

    • It looks similar. The TRI spin caster has a water spray to cool the steel after the pour. This is a very important part of the process.
